The Jorum Learning & Teaching Competition, which is running in conjunction with the ALT-C conference in September, has seen excellent entries submitted, all of which have been to a very high standard. The talent that exists in the creation of these materials has been evident, and these resources could make a significant difference in a learning and teaching environment.
The judging panel had a difficult time marking the entries, and was asked to score each one against a set of four criteria: appropriateness, engagement, effectiveness and reusability. The scores were very close, but the top three winners were eventually found. Due to the exceptional standard of the entries, three commended prizes are also being awarded.
The six finalists will be showcasing their resources at the ALT-C conference, in a Jorum session to be held at 3.45pm on 8th September, in the main lecture theatre, University of Manchester.
The actual placing of the top three winners will not be announced until the gala dinner on the 9th September, where the prizes will be awarded by two members of the judging panel - Jackie Carter, Jorum Co-Director and Laura Shaw, Jorum Project Manager.
The Jorum team would like to thank everyone for submitting such high quality entries, and we hope that this will set the precedent for next year’s competition!
Our sincere thanks must also go to the judging panel, who took time out of their busy schedules to score the entries, plus the kind sponsorship from Intrallect who are donating the prizes.
We look forward to seeing you all at the ALT-C conference!
